Symbian are the creators and licensors of Symbian OS, the world's leading mobile operating system. Founded in 1998 by Ericsson, Nokia, Motorola and Psion, Symbian has shipped over 200 million handsets shipped to date. The Symbian Foundation, announced in June 2008, will consolidate S60, UIQ, MOAP(S) and ultimately making the platform open source.
