American McGee is working on new Alice game

The improbably-named American McGee has revealed that he is working on a brand new brand new entry in the Alice series.

In a post on his own website, the fantastically-named developer said that he has started on a proposal for a game tentatively called Alice: Asylum. This proposal is to include artwork, design outline and a financial business model.

The proposal is yet to be sent to publisher EA, with McGee calling upon fans of the series to let the firm know how much demand there is for it.

A developer effectively announcing a game before even pitching it to the publisher that owns the IP is unusual, and might be seen as a strong arming tactic by EA. Let’s just see how this plays out.

McGee's Alice series started in 2000 with a PC version. A sequel, Madness Returns, launched in 2011.
