Ubisoft vet Polfeldt founds new studio Bespoke Pixel

Long-time Ubisoft Massive boss David Polfeldt has founded a brand new studio called Bespoke Pixel.

As reported by VentureBeat, the new developer is based in Barcelona and already has $25 million in funding. This follows Polfeldt spending two years working in senior advisory capacities for both Disney and Playerunknown Productions. Prior to that, he spent 18 years at Ubisoft Massive, stepping down as managing director in 2021 and leaving the developer entirely the following year

“We aim to create original intellectual property focused on refined and well-crafted gameplay," he said.

"We are forming a small and agile team, initially dedicated to prototype development. We will harness the extensive experience of the core team to deliver top-tier gaming experiences.”

Polfeldt continued: “We’re eager to collaborate with seasoned developers who share our passion for the craft and what I truly believe is a distinctive and promising project. Our mission is to redefine the standards of excellence in a key gaming genre, prioritising player satisfaction."
