Blizzard and Bungie vets join Hasbro

Entertainment giant Hasbro has hired two games vets in John Hight and Holly Barbacovi.

Hight has been brought on board as president of Wizards of the Coast and Digital Gaming. He previously worked at Blizzard for 12 years, most recently heading up World of Warcraft.

Barbacovi, meanwhile, has been hired as chief people officer. Prior to joining Hasbro she was chief operating officer at Bungie. In fact, she previously worked at Hasbro as VP of human resources between 2019 and 2020.

“I admire John’s career focus on fostering community. He is a true embodiment of our mission to bring people together through play,” Hasbro CEO Chris Cocks said.

“John’s love of D&D and Magic: The Gathering, combined with his leadership in video games, will be crucial as we expand our digital offerings to deliver what our fans crave.”

He continued: "I am thrilled to welcome Holly back to Hasbro. Those who worked alongside her at Wizards of the Coast will remember her curiosity and courageous leadership. Her pragmatic approach to human resources will be invaluable as we cultivate a dynamic work environment that promotes joy and community."
