Report: Warner Bros considering selling games stake

Entertainment giant Warner Bros is reportedly looking to sell a stake in its video games business.

The Financial Times reports that the firm is considering selling some of the smaller parts in its portfolio, such as Warner Bros Interactive Entertainment or Polish broadcaster TVN.

This is to help reverse a 70 per cent downturn in its stock price since Warner Media merged with Discovery in April 2022.

Warner Bros was previously looking to split out it various businesses, such as HBO and CNN.

The company's games business has produced some rather successful titles – such as the Harry Potter-based Hogwarts Legacy – and some less-than-stellar releases, like this year's Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League.

Though Warner Bros boasts many talented studios, many of their successes are tied to its properties, making a sale of the games division somewhat challenging.

Warner Bros recently acquired Player First, the studio behind its chaotic brawler Multiversus.
