Timbre Games spins out from Sumo Digital

UK developer Timbre Games is now independent from its previous owner Sumo Digital.

In a post on LinkedIn, the studio's chief executive officer Joe Nickolls said that it was becoming its own venture in the wake of it being closed by Sumo in June of this year as that company initiated cost cutting measures.

As part of spinning out from Sumo Digital, Timbre Games has partnered with Studio Capital Management, which is handling the company's business development.

"As many of you know, Timbre Games Studio had to close our doors a couple of months ago, but we weren’t quite ready to throw in the towel just yet," Nickolls wrote.

"The great people at Sumo Digital Ltd have helped us transition into a fully independent studio and allowed us to take the Timbre Games name and brand with us, and we are very grateful for their help.

"The support we have received from the gaming community has been nothing short of amazing."
