Tequila Works makes layoffs

The developer of Rime and Song of Nunu, Tequila Works, has made an undisclosed number of layoffs.

In a post on LinkedIn, the studio said that it had been forced to make cuts to staff after it had been forced to cancel an in-development project. Tequila Works didn't give a reason for why it had decided to abandon this game.

The company hasn't put a number on how many people have lost their jobs as part of these layoffs, but it does say it is a "small number" of people.

"With deep regret, we must inform of the decision to cancel an unannounced game," the studio wrote.

"This tough decision means we will be restructuring the studio to concentrate on the development of only one game. These changes will have an impact to a small number of roles at the studio.

"This is an incredibly difficult time, and our focus is to provide the support and guidance to those affected."
