Ruckus Games lands $19m Series A funding round

US developer Ruckus Games has secured $19 million in Series A funding.

The investment was led by Korean games firm Krafton, with Bitkraft Ventures, Transcend, and Hypergryph also chipping, and is going to be funding the studio's debut title. Said project is a co-op shooter.

Ruckus was founded by veterans of Gearbox and Riot Games back in 2021. The creative director on Borderlands 3, Paul Sage, is the studio's CEO.

"Having Krafton and Hypergryph join us is amazing," he said. "They bring not only a global reach, but as developers themselves, they bring a unique perspective to our team."

Krafton's corporate development chief Maria Park added: "We believe in the future of co-op gaming, and the Ruckus team has demonstrated incredible progress with a small team in a short period of time. They've crafted something so on-trend, with stylish action and humour, that it not only entertains but also connects players in memorable ways – a vision that strongly resonates with Krafton."
