SNK founds dedicated fighting game studios

Japanese giant SNK has set up a brand new studio dedicated to its fighting games.

In a post on Twitter, the company announced that it was setting up KOF Studio, which it says will "proudly carry on the 30-year legacy" of its fighting titles, such as the King of Fighters franchise.

"Since their creation in the 1990s, fighting game series such as Garou Densetsu, Samurai Shodown, and The King of Fighters have been loved by fans around the world," the company wrote.

"To mark the 30th anniversary of the birth of The King of Fighters series, we are establishing KOF Studio to further evolve the SNK fighting game IP. Please look forward to the challenge of KOF Studio as it inherits the tradition and transforms it into innovation."
