Hideaki Nishino is now PlayStation's sole CEO

Hideaki Nishino is now the only CEO of Sony Interactive Entertainment.

He previously was one of two CEOs for the PlayStation firm alongside Hermen Hulst. Nishino was the head of the business side of things, while Hulst led the studio group. He will be continuing in this role and will be reporting into Nishino.

The news was announced as part of a leadership shuffle at the Japanese giant that has seen CFO Hiroki Totoki being promtoed to its CEO and president, while SVP of finance, corporate development and strategy Lin Tao will be moving into the chief financial officer position.

"I am truly honored to take the helm at Sony Interactive Entertainment," Nishino said.

"Technology and creativity are two of our biggest strengths as we continue to focus on developing experiences that deliver entertainment for everyone. We will continue to grow the PlayStation community in new ways, such as IP expansion, while also delivering the best in technology innovation. I want to thank Hermen for his expertise and leadership as he continues his role as CEO, Studio Business Group. I am deeply grateful for the PlayStation community and their continued support and I am very excited for what the future holds."

Nishino will be taking on his new role on April 1st, 2025.
