Entertainment giant Warner Bros has apparently cancelled an expansion for Hogwarts Legacy.
Bloomberg reports that the in-development expansion was set to release alongside a planned Definitive Edition of the Harry Potter action RPG. This was set to feature new storylines, apparently.
Warner Bros apparently cancelled the project as the amount of content was not enough to justify the price that was being considered. This Hogwarts Legacy expansion was being developed by the game's original developer, Avalanche Software, as well as Rocksteady. Avalanche is reportedly also working on a sequel to the Harry Potter title, too.
Rocksteady recently made layoffs after it announced that it was ending support for 2024's Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League.
Warner Bros admitted last year that its games business was "substantially underperforming"; that same year, the company wrote off the cost of Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League to the tune of $200 million. The company also recently closed three of its studios, including Monolith. Its long-time boss, David Haddad, also recently announced his departure.
