Ubisoft has closed its Leamington studio

French publisher Ubisoft has shut down its Leamington studio.

The firm revealed the news on LinkedIn, saying that it was "beyond grateful" to the developers that had worked at the studio over the years.

"After many incredible years, we want to share the news that Ubisoft Leamington has officially closed its doors," Ubisoft wrote.

"We are beyond grateful to our talented team, whose creativity, passion and dedication have left a lasting mark on the games we’ve created, the memories we’ve shared and the community we’ve built in Leamington."

This news follows reporting that Ubisoft was laying of 185 members of staff across its various departments; this included the closure of its Leamington studio, with a small number of workers staying on via remote contracts.

Ubisoft acquired its Leamington studio back in 2017; it was founded back in 2002 as FreeStyle Games.
