RuneScape: Dragonwilds has shifted over 600,000 units since its launch.
In a post on LinkedIn, the CEO of developer Jagex, Jon Bellamy, gave an update as to how the recently-released title had performed since its April 15th rollout. The exec also pointed to RuneScape: Dragonwilds being the No.1 selling game on Steam in its first week; though this is only if you count premium titles, as the project actually was the second highest-grossing game on Steam behind Counter-Strike 2.
Dragonwilds also has an 84 per cent "Very Positive" rating on Steam, too. The title launched into Early Access on April 15th.
"The response from players, the RuneScape community, and the industry so far has exceeded even our most hopeful expectations," Bellamy wrote.
"And it’s reminded me just how much games — and the people behind them — can still surprise, and inspire us in the most unexpected ways. It's the alchemy of this industry.
He continued: "At Jagex, we pride ourselves on putting our player communities at the centre of what we do. During the launch I saw that come to life in the most powerful way.
"To everyone involved: A huge thank you. It really is a privilege to lead such dedicated teams, and I'm incredibly excited about the journey ahead for Jagex, our people and our players."
