Resident Evil 4 remake hits 10m sales

Action horror title Resident Evil 4 Remake has shifted over 10 million copies to date.

That's according to publisher Capcom, which announced the milestone on its investor relations page. The company also revealed that it is the fastest selling title on the Resident Evil franchise to date.

Resident Evil 4 Remake launched back in March 2023.

"The reimagined gameplay experience, which carefully preserves the appeal of the original, has garnered strong support from both new and returning fans," Capcom wrote.

"It has also received wide critical acclaim from the media and users, resulting in the title winning multiple awards globally, significantly driving ongoing sales growth for the game."

Capcom also revealed that 2017's Resident Evil 7 and 2019's Resident Evil 2 have shifted more than 15 million copies in total, Resident Evil Village has sold more than 11 million copies. Finally, 2020 the Resident Evil 3 remake has shifted more than 10 million units overall.

The company says that this success is down to a strong back catalog strategy.

Overall, the Resident Evil series has sold over 167 million copies since its 1996 debut.
