Ragdoll Physics Experiments battles it out to win The Very Big Indie Pitch at Pocket Gamer Connects London 2026

The Very Big Indie Pitch was back again for this year's Pocket Gamer Connects London! Over the years the conference has grown so big large that it now covers three different buildings as it delivers tons of talks, panels and networking events. But, of course, as ever, it was the fringe events that were the talk of the town, and, of course, that includes The Very Big Indie Pitch, both on mobile and PC + Console.

If you are new to the Very Big Indie Pitch, this is a speed-dating style, quick-fire pitching competition where indie developers are moved from table to table, giving their pitches to our panels of experts. These judges are from all corners of the games industry, showing their own expertise and views on the various games.

Teams who pitch, whether or not they place, end up gaining valuable feedback on their game and pitching style, alongside quick learnings on how to elevator pitch their game to various parts of the industry. At the end though, there is only one winner, who gain prizes like promotional packages and even a golden Big Indie Pitch baseball bat.

For this Very Big Indie Pitch, we saw 15 teams of indie developers come together to showcase their game to our judges. There was a wide variety of different genres, monetisation methods, and inspirations for all of the different games that have been created.

First Place - Ragdoll Physics Experiments by Giraffe Head Studios (PC)

Ragdoll Physics Experiments is a sandbox, physics-based game that takes place in a huge, interconnected tsting facility full of secrets. This game combines the creative freedom of Garry's Mod with the humour and narrative intrigue of The Stanley Parable, creating something new.

You will find yourself exploring all of the corridors, discovering hidden rooms, and take on physics experiments using dozens of traps, props and gadgets.

Second Place - Platform Unknown by Phenomena Studio (PlayStation, Xbox, PC)

In Platform Unknown, you pilot and maintain your starving steam train through a forest of body-horror, trying to figure out the mystery behind what is going on. You are able to create your own character, scavenge Victorian England, and get out to see civilians in the safety of their own towns.

Third Place - Balloons of Paradise by Space Lion Studios (PC)

In Balloons of Paradise, you play as Perdu, a little lost penguin who has flown over the shores of Emeraldia. Here, you can talk to island residents, complete tasks for them, and find your way back to your own family.
