Shareholders in European games firm Thunderful Group have approved Atari's acquisition of the majority of its stock.
The deal will see the legacy game brand own 81.7 per cent of the company after being issued 333,333,334 new ordinary shares. All in, this will cost Atari SEK 50 million ($5.3 million).
Furthermore, Atari's chief operating officer Geoffroy Châteauvieux and chief technology officer Andreas Deptolla will be joining the Thunderful board.
This follows Atari announcing its intention to acquire Thunderful back in July 2025. The company has also recently purchased five game IP from Ubisoft, Transport Tycoon and Surgeon Simulator.
Meanwhile, Thunderful has found itself in rather dire straits in recent years; the company has made a number of rounds of layoffs and has sold various parts of its business, including its distribution network, Headup and Jumpship.
