The soon-to-be-private Electronic Arts has reported a 13 per cent dip in its net bookings year-on-year.
In one of its last (and rather brief) financial reports to the market, the company says it brought in $1.8 billion in net bookings, saying that the steep decline compared to the year prior is due to the "extraordinary release" of College Football 25.
The US publishing giant added that Apex Legends had seen "double digit" growth for net bookings, the first for a while it seems.
Overall, the company reported $1.8 billion in net revenue for the period, a nine per cent decrease year-on-year.
“Across our broad portfolio — from EA Sports to Battlefield, The Sims, and skate. — our teams continue to create high-quality experiences that connect and inspire players around the world,” EA CEO Andrew Wilson said.
“The creativity, passion, and innovation of our teams are at the heart of everything we do.”
There was no financial call due to the fact that Electronic Arts is set to be taken private in a deal worth $55 billion.
